My FamilyA brief introduction to the people (and animals) who put up with me. I have omitted last names for privacy reasons. If you need to reach any of them, you can reach them through me. [ X ]

Brenda has asked me not to put her photo on the internet. I respect this. The rest of them can speak for themselves when they are older. BrendaMy wife of 16 years. She is the reason most things in this house work. She runs a book club, makes a pound cake that has been favorably reviewed by several neighbors, and has an unshakeable opinion on how a dishwasher should be loaded. I have learned not to argue about the dishwasher. She thinks the koi are "fine" but would prefer a vegetable garden in their place. We have reached an understanding on this. Kyle (14)Our older son. He is currently 6 feet tall, which I am still getting used to. He plays basketball at the school level and guitar at the bedroom level. He eats his weight in chili every Tuesday and Thursday. He is a good kid, though he will not let me call him that. Megan (11)Our daughter. She plays the violin — and I am not just saying this as her father — she plays it well. Her teacher said so and her teacher is not known for saying so. She also draws, reads constantly, and has strong and frequently changing opinions about which koi is her favorite. Right now it is Gerald. Last month it was Mr. President. Next month who can say. BiscuitOur dog. Age unknown. We adopted him from the shelter in the spring of 2002. The shelter said "approximately 4" and that was two and a half years ago, so he is approximately approximately 6 or 7. He is some kind of hound mix. He is not allowed near the pond. He does not understand why. PeanutThe cat. Seventeen years old, mostly deaf, surprisingly still in good spirits. She predates the rest of the household except for me. She has opinions, but she keeps most of them to herself. The KoiI consider them family, though Brenda has asked me not to put this in writing and is going to be displeased when she sees it. Anyway, you can meet them all on the Koi Pond page: Gerald, Mabel, Arthur, Mr. President, Linda, and The Duke. Plus Bartholomew and Judith, in memory. On HolidaysWe do a reasonable Thanksgiving and a large Christmas. In the summer we go to the same rental house on the coast that Brenda's family has used since she was a girl. I cannot tell you where it is. |
